The Camille Chemise is an adventurous beginner pattern designed for woven fabrics. The design is a modernized chemise style dress with a wide square neckline, sleeves, a roomy fit, and special details like box pleats and gathers around the bust, underarm, and sleeves. The sleeves have a puff sleeve detail that comes together into an Sleeve Band just above the elbow with 3 pleats and gathers. 

Camille has the option to make a blouse version, or a dress version with hidden inseam pockets. This pattern doesn’t have any closures such as zippers or buttons, but is meant to comfortably be put on your body. The dress version has a midi/maxi length and has a billowy comfortable shape with a lot of ease around the bust, waist, and hips.

Fabric Recommendations:

  • This pattern requires between 1.7-3.7 yds/meters of woven fabric for the Blouse, and between 3.1-6.6 yds/meters of woven fabric for the dress.
  • Light weight woven fabrics are recommended for this pattern. Some possible wovens could include Indian block print, linen, cotton lawn, cotton poplin.

This CONFIDENT BEGINNER sewing pattern has BEGINNER FRIENDLY sewing instructions and illustrations that make construction easy to follow.
