Organic Certification Standards Explained

At Simplifi Fabric, we proudly collaborate with a range of organic and eco-friendly manufacturers and brands globally. Our partners boast essential certifications, ensuring the highest standards in sustainability and organic practices. Some of the noteworthy certifications include:

  • Organic Exchange Blended Standard (OE BL)
  • Organic Exchange 100 Standard (OE 100)
  • Global Organic Textile Standard (GOTS-NL)
  • OEKO-TEX 100

We have specific certifications applicable to our natural organic textiles. Please note that these certifications do not apply to Designer Organic Cotton Prints, for which you can refer to the following companies:

It is essential to mention that the children’s sleepwear category has strict regulations. Currently, none of our fabrics are intended for children's sleepwear, as specified by our suppliers. For instance, Birch Fabrics states, "Birch Fabrics is not responsible for any product manufactured from Birch Fabrics; they are not intended for children’s sleepwear because this violates US Consumer Product Safety Commission regulations." Our organic fabrics do not utilize flame retardant coatings, as this goes against the principles of organic certifications and the very essence of using natural, eco-friendly fibers.

Regarding the Consumer Product Safety Improvement Act (CPSIA), keep in mind that while textiles are exempt from certain testing requirements, components like snaps and zippers on garments are not. Thus, the final clothing items must still meet safety standards. The CPSIA aims to enhance the safety of children's products, especially concerning hazardous substances such as lead and phthalates.

For a comprehensive understanding of CPSIA regulations, please visit the CPSC website. We encourage transparency and continuous learning about these standards, so if you have any questions or need more specifics, don't hesitate to ask!
