A classic lined bucket hat to keep the sunshine or rain at bay.  The hat has 1cm seam allowance and is included in the pattern. This pattern is intermediate.

Suggested fabrics:

Oilskin, Dry Oilskin, Mid-weight cotton canvas, 8 – 13oz denim, 5 – 10oz linen. For lining we’d suggest a voile, calico or barrier lining.

You will need:

Matching thread.

15cm interfacing (optional).

Fabric Requirements:

Self 

80cm wide, with or without nap 0.5M

100 – 150cm wide, with or without nap 0.35M

Lining 

80cm wide, with or without nap 0.3M

100 – 150cm wide, with or without nap 0.25M

Our Samples:

Connor’s hat is made from Toast linen, he’s wearing it with our Foreman jacket made in 12oz Tobacco Twill. Elwen is wearing the same hat, but with a Hattie dress made from Dusty Grape double gauze.

Lily’s hat is made from Olive Dry Oilskin, she is wearing it with an Ottoline jacket.

The hat on the post is made from Khaki Dry Oilskin.

This is a PDF pattern including instructions. FYI the pattern pieces are small enough to fit on A4 paper and are compatible with US letter paper. Ensure you print and measure  your test square to ensure accuracy.
