Skill level: easy to intermediate
What you will practice with this vest sewing pattern: how to line a garment, to assemble a hood, to sew pockets.
A video is available in free access on the site including the complete assembly of the garment (all options).
Age range: 1, 3, 6, 12, 18, 24 months, 3 and 4 years
Material suggestions:
- Woven: sherpa, faux fur, quilted fabric, fleece, corduroy, linen, poplin, double gauze, flannel, wool, denim, chambray, dotted swiss cotton voile, gabardine
- Knit: fleece, French terry, quilted sweatshirt, jersey, terry
- Ribbing for the ribbed neckband option
- Batting if quilted option
Fabric and trims:
- Separable plastic or metal zipper (option) for non standard sizes, see how to shorten a zipper on pages 7 and 8
- Button(s) + cord for loop (option)
- Tie: ribbon, cord, lace, braid... (option)
- Toggle closure(s) (option)
The requirements are the same for the outer fabric and the lining. The requirements shown are for one fabric. For example, for a vest without hood in 1 month, 30 cm of outer fabric and 30 cm of lining will be needed.
If the fabric is very thick, prefer to cut the size above to keep a certain ease.
