6 Questions with ... Lisa W. From Made Just For You By Lisa
1. What is your business name and how
did you come up with the name?
Made Just For You By Lisa. I like to offer custom work so I make everything "just for you!" You choose the fabrics and the sizes and your wish is my command.
2. What do you sew?
Reusable snack bags, wet bags, baby blankets, pacifier clips, burp cloths and the occasional custom request like drawstring bags and hot water bottle covers.
3. What inspired you to start your own
home-based business? Do you have any employess?
I have 3 little girls (3.5 years old, 2.5 years old and 13 months old) and I am due with another girl in July. I needed something for ME. So, I started to sew in the evenings and people liked what I was doing - it just grew from there. I don't employ anyone, this is my personal therapy.
4. What is your favorite part about
I can produce something tangible and complete in a short amount of time - and I love it when my 3.5 year old joins me and pretends to sew her own projects with my scraps. I feel like I've accomplished something every time I sew!
5. What is your favorite sewing
tip/trick you wish you had of known ages ago?!
Spend $10 on a Teflon foot if you plan on using PUL in your projects. Best $10 I've ever spent.
6. What is your favorite SIMPLIFI
textile and why?
I LOVE the organic cotton choices that SIMPLIFI offers. They are highly requested prints for my snack bags and wet bags! My personal favourites are Elephants by Ed Emberley and Dandelion Shadow from Birch Fabrics.
