1. What is your business name and how did you come up with the name?
Omee's Boutique is my shop name. Omee in Arabic language means 'mom'. Everything in my shop is handmade with love care and attention by me. I have a 3 year old daughter and she is the reason I live and breathe.
2. What do you sew?
I make reusable cloth menstrual pads, unpaper towels, baby to toddler bibs, diaper bags, nursing pads, sandwich bags & wraps, and much more.
3. What inspired you to start your own home-based business? Do you have any employees?
I did not like spending money on store bought items that didnt really work for me or my baby. Therefore I sew eco-friendly items that are reusable, functional as well as cute. I sew and my husband ships orders.
4. What is your favorite part about sewing?
Sewing is therapeutic for me. The best part is picking high quality pretty fabrics and materials, notions, I am always very giddly when in a fabric store :) And then to create something using the fabrics my with hands that will be worn and loved enhances the experience even more!
5. What is your favorite sewing tip/trick you wish you had of known ages ago?!
I recently discovered walking foot, and I love it! One more basic yet very important tip that I would like to share is keep your stitch length short.
6. What is your favorite SIMPLIFI textile and why?
I love bamboo fleece. It is so soft, absorbent and an excellent material to be used for the reusable cloth menstrual pads that I make.
